THANK YOU!

To those of you who canvassed for me, encouraged me and gave your time and/or dollars, I can't thank you enough. Thanks also to everyone who displayed my yard sign. I am so proud of the race we ran. It was an honorable and competitive campaign. Unlike my opponent, we never resorted to negative campaigning or smear tactics. We didn't go around stealing yard signs or distributing false information. We stuck to our positive message and tried to reach as many voters as possible through personal contact. We ran a good race. It was honest and upfront at all times.

Even though we didn't get the result we wanted, I don't have any regrets. We ran a fair and honest campaign and did all that we could with the resources we had available. I can't thank you enough for your support and hard work!

I will continue working for change in the 51st District and Lake County. There is much I can do regardless of whether or not I hold an office in Springfield. I’ve already been approached about running for a non-salaried position next spring and am considering my options.

Thanks again for all your support. I've learned much from you. Although I didn't win this race I want continue in "public service." Let’s work together to get our state and country back on track in 2009! If there is any way I can help you or anything I can do for you please don’t hesitate to contact me. My website and phone number and e-mail address will remain the same.

I have lived and worked in the heart of the 51st District for over 20 years. I love this community and I am very proud of the growth and accomplishments I have seen here over the years. While most of the change our area has experienced has made it a great place to live, it also has created frustrations we all face daily.

My campaign is about giving respect and freedom back to our elderly so they can retire and live in the house where they raised a family without the risk of being taxed out of it. It is about allowing all of us to live longer, healthier lives by utilizing resources in the best possible manner so that we can find solutions to our health care crisis. It is about looking at alternatives for funding and running our educational system so that our kids get the best possible start in life. It is also about improving our quality of everyday life by working to reduce road congestion and the transportation problems that plague us.

This district needs a fresh perspective and a Representative who is willing to listen and work with both sides of the aisle. When I decided to run again, I made a promise to myself to run a fair and honest campaign the way that I feel is best. This is a grassroots campaign the way I want to run it and I will not rely on political pundits or others who want to focus on something outside of the important issues.

I believe you don't ask people for their votes, you provide them with examples to earn their trust. This is the foundation of my campaign. Working as a teacher, principal and attorney has allowed me to hone my skills on how to deal with a variety of people, perspectives, and problems. With your help I will go to Springfield and work every day to bring real solutions to the problems of the 51st District and the state of Illinois. As your state representative, I will be a full time advocate in Springfield who will work with people on both sides of the political aisle to bring home fresh answers to our nagging problems.

I look forward to working with you and for you.

Sincerely,
